Charitable Orgs. Privacy Protection Act

This bill allows charitable organizations with tax-exempt status to collect nonprobate assets (like life insurance, retirement accounts, and securities) left to them by deceased donors by submitting an affidavit to the asset holder, rather than going through probate court. Mecklenburg Transportation Referendum

This bill authorizes Mecklenburg County to hold a referendum asking voters whether to approve an additional 1% local sales tax dedicated to funding roadway and public transportation systems. Schools must certify annual compliance and cannot maintain offices or employ staff whose primary duties involve promoting these concepts or discriminatory practices.
